Studio Ballroom Dances

Many years ago, I began running Saturday night dances because there were very few places on the North Shore to go ballroom dancing. Today, I am delighted to note that there are a variety of places to go dancing.

For several months now, Ron and I have been wondering if perhaps there is no longer a need for us to run our Saturday night dances. We have now concluded that, between our other commitments and the other opportunities for Saturday night dancing, we are no longer going to run the Saturday night dances at the Danvers Masonic Hall.

We will, of course, continue to run our April Dance Weekend, and there may be other events in the future, as well. If you’ll keep Laurie informed of any email changes, she’ll let you know of any special events. And of course you can always check the website

2013 LaFlam Dance Weekend April 12-14

Each year, Miss Tina's Studio presents a wonderful dance weekend at The Beacon Resort in Lincoln NH.

Ron & Tina lead a host of dance instructors, teaching various ballroom steps.

Their professional sound system provides the finest ballroom music.

All types of dance rhythms are played throughout the weekend dances foxtrot, waltz, swing, rumba, tango, cha-cha, merenque, samba, disco, viennese waltz, quickstep, mambo and west coast swing.

Mad Hot Ballroom


Fifth-graders Master Ballroom Dancing

Gloucester Mad Hot Ball will be 2-4PM on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at

Gloucester High School Field House Inspired by the film "Mad Hot Ballroom", Tina and Ron have been teaching Ballroom Dancing to local fifth graders for the past 4 years. This school year they are teaching all 5th graders in Essex and Gloucester, and at Stoneridge Children's Montessori in Beverly Farms.

In Gloucester, the year culminates with a "Mad Hot Ball". After ten weeks of twice-per-week lessons, the students are able to perform tango (their favorite), swing, meringue, fox trot and mambo.

The students compete with numbers on their backs before a panel of judges who watch for style footwork and smiles. Miss Tina awards ribbons to the very enthusiastic competitors.

The students dress for the occasion and observe proper ballroom etiquette, to the delight of a full house of parents, friends and siblings. Miss Tina and the teachers are pleased at the enthusiasm of the students.
